This is an appalling story. I can see only two explanations: Carville was either acting on behalf of his wife (and thereby betraying The Democratic Party) or, worse, he was trying to ensure Kerry lost to ensure that Hillary wouldn;t have to wait 8 years for a chance to run.

Either way, there ought to be some explanations forthcoming from someone.
