Dear Senator, You make no mention of the much talked about Filibuster Sen. Dodd has promised to do. Can you tell me why it doesn't and if you plan to support said Filibuster ? Will you take your place in history and help Sen. Dodd do what should be the duty of every Democratic Party member, the protecting of Americans Civil Rights ? Without this information everything else is just more talk, and eventual capitulation after some posturing.
I eagerly await your answer to this most important part.

I wrote a essay about the rising Infant Mortality Rate in the USA based on the NYTs article. You can find it in the TPM Reader Blogs section. It's quite a eye-opener. It was well received over at DailyKos and relates well to this piece.

This Admin. thinks the hearing was a sucess for a couple reasons. One, they never have to tell who actually put the names on the list. That was the plan as we has read in the emails. Two, The Dems never really drew blood in a fashion that the general public can understand. I was disappointed in the Dems, their plan was to stay semi lowkey and try not to look like they were attacking Gonzales, just truth seeking. It didn't work. They came off looking like the same old backboneless party they are always accused of being. Leahys speech at the close was more of a grandfather giving a lecture, than a call for Albertos head.

Better than sending them the film, may I suggest they listen to Al Gores MLK Day speech from last year ? It is one of the best speeches by anyone in the last 10 yrs, and lays out the job SCOTUS has ahead of them.

according to the NYT habeas corpus is being done away with, all CIA will be forgiven as it will be done retroactive, Waterboarding will no longer be allowed, but the secret prisons have not been discussed yet. They are against International Law no matter what we say, as well as what torture we have already done. Spector said on the floor of the Senate yesterday that any attempt to do away with Habeas would have to be Unconstitutional, but Spector is about as reliable as the town drunk left to guard the still. I did a diary earlier at dkos, but the above info is newer. here is the link to my diary.http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/9/21/18559/3374

Joe has learned his habit of insulting people from his good friend Hannity. Since Joe has fired his staff, I look for some of the Swiftboat fools to become part of Joes new staff, and maybe even Hannity as his new manager. He already has Tony Snow and Karl doing such good things for him.

The same group is there group feeling abandoned by Democrats supporting more illegal immigrants. While we will probably win in 06, 08 will be another story. How theses people vote in 08 will be about their money, job, safety and yes, Immigration. These are the people that , no matter how many time time you tell them different, know they are losing money and jobs to illegal immigrants. We are doing nothing at this point to make them think we are on thier side. Democrats are pushing away thier base on this, no bringing them in.

the whole sad part of this is that the new spanish anthem was written and produced by a white UK music producer, in the UK. Not by a Immigrant wanting to have his/her own singable version in thier own language. This are came from way to make money.

I'm with you Ron. If these CEOs with the platinum salarys and parachutes had a oz. of Honor left this would not be happening. The other problem is the Unions, once the protector of the worker turned into a giant ins. scram, where they charged dues for protection they quit providing. If the Unions had done their jobs this Bankrupty Law wouls have never been passed. Hell, the Unions them selves may use this same law to get out of it's pension fund costs. Look at the latest Airline deal in the news lately. In the last 2 Union deals for the Pilots, the Unions lost them Half of thier wages ! Doin a heck of a job wouldn't you say ? Colgate has decided to close a plant and move it to Mex. to save money, But the CEO had a package deal/bonus of over 420 mill. dollars. They could of kept that plant in the State, given everyone a raise, full health and a pension for probably 20 yrs on that same money.

The Myth that Unions will stand by the American worker is just that , a Myth. Corrupt Unions are a big reason the Unions have failed in recent times. Just how many times in the recent past have you seen union workers have to accept wage, health care, and pension cuts just to keep their job ? Way too freaking many. Look at the Pilots in the News, in the last 2 union deals, they have lost 50% of their wages while the CEOs still make 6 figure salarys. My next couple points on this issue are exp. based. Until last yr., I spent close to 10 yrs in Las Vegas. I worked for the largest flooring company in Vegas. at least half of the crews spoke very little if any english, the rest were Hispanic, save a few exceptions that would quit after a week or 2 because of the low wages paid. I know for a fact the owners knew they had illegal workers, because I have personally seen them wire money to Mexico, so a worker could get some more friends here to work. These workers were paid daily, with no taxes taken out. I also know for a fact the Authoritys knew it to, since that same company put the new floors in most the Policemens homes in Vegas for a cut-rate. I had moved to Vegas after 20+ yrs in Ca., and moved back to Ca.. Upon my return, I found the price of labor in the Carpet business had lost appox 25% of wages paid when I had left. These are the " Facts" on the ground, not from some study made by someone looking at a bunch of numbers given them by someone else that doesn't use the true facts either. I'm a proud " Tradesman", I learned the flooring business when we still used a needle and thread, and were as respected as any Plumber, Electrician, or Doctor for that matter. Theses days the pride that was once the American trademark, has been ruined by hiring the "low-bidder". Because of my wifes and my own disabilitys, we have been force to use the County Clinic, where we are treated like the minority ( which we soon will be in Ca.) Both me and my wife are part Native American, so save me any racist remarks. The lowering of wages paid is directly caused by too much cheap labor. No matter how many times someone quotes some study, it just proves to me that they don't have the kind of job that has YET been threatened and really have no clue how abandoned the American Tradesmen really are. Why is it people never remember that the Middle Class Contruction/ Manuf. Labor has been the backbone of the Democratic Party ? Why is the Left so fast to dump us aside ? I have voted Dem. since 1972, and used to vote that way out of pride. Now I still vote Dem., but only because it is has been the lesser of 2 evils. The Dems. had better start to pander to us the way they are pandering to immigrant soon, or they may lose in 08 after the this coming big win in 06.
